Samuel Eto’o is not going to Manchester United in the summer

Samuel Eto’o has dismissed media reports that he might be signing for Manchester United during the summer.

The former Cameroon international has stated that he is not going anywhere for the time being, but he has conceded that he needs competition.

Samuel Eto’o, who is currently playing for the Turkish side, Antalyaspor has stated that he still have lots to give on the pitch, and he might be interested in seeking another challenge to his career. But he said that there is no contact made with Manchester United and that these are just rumors.

Indeed, Manchester United is currently being linked to every striker on the planet as the English side look for options to improve their attack ahead of the next season. They have been previously been linked with Neymar as well as Ibrahimovic.

Samuel Eto’o joined Antalyaspor in 2015 from Sampdoria. So far he had made 30 appearances for the Turkish side and scored 20 goals for them. He ended the season as the top scorer. He is currently under contract until 2018 with them.

The Cameroon player had previous spells with Chelsea and Everton in the Premier League. He joined the London club in 2013 where he played 34 games for them and scored 12 goals in the process. However, his career with Chelsea was marred by injuries and failed to establish himself as a first-team player.

He eventually made the move to Everton at the end of his one-year contract with Chelsea. He joined the Merseyside team in August 2014 on a two-year contract. However, he left Everton only after 5 months at the club when he signed for Sampdoria. During his time at Everton, he managed to score 4 goals for them while making 20 appearances for the club.
